Woodfired Round Mug

Handmade stoneware round mug fired in a community kiln in Forfar. Colours and glaze varies depending on how the flames touch and interact with the pieces during the firing, making every mug unique. Capacity 450 ml approx.

Maria Poyato is an Edinburgh based artist. She gets inspiration from surrounding landscapes, nostalgic feelings and elements from nature that have lived and endured a long time. Like fossils, rocks, shells, footprints, etc. She experiments with earthy colours, textures and found objects, specially from the forest and the sea. Her work has a certain rustic, homely and not-perfect feel, with a cute witchy and fairy touch.
