Handmade stoneware mug fired in a community kiln in Forfar. Perfect size for a cup of coffee and a tactile experience due to the rough texture of the clay. Capacity 200ml.

Maria Poyato is an Edinburgh based artist. She gets inspiration from surrounding landscapes, nostalgic feelings and elements from nature that have lived and endured a long time. Like fossils, rocks, shells, footprints, etc. She experiments with earthy colours, textures and found objects, specially from the forest and the sea. Her work has a certain rustic, homely and not-perfect feel, with a cute witchy and fairy touch.
