'Medieval Marshes' A4 print by Tulips & Heather

An A4 illustrated print on 250gsm matte, textured, off-white paper.
The illustration depicts someone at the waters edge, surrounded by fenland plants and dewy cobwebs, an eel leaping out of the river into their hands and saying "hold me fast and fear me not!" - a quote from the folk song Tam Lin. In the water, between the ripples lurks another eel and a frog.

It is reminicent of vintage fairytale illustrations and medieval manuscripts and uses mauves, purples, shades of green and blue. Comes packed in glassine.

"Tulips and Heather brings together the illustrative work of Maya Chessman and Freya Elise Kemp. They are inspired by folklore, queerness and the magic of nature and create prints, stationery, greetings cards, garlands, badges and more! They’ve been making things together since 2021 & share a love of hand-made craft & arts, blending together Maya's detailed pencil drawing with Freya’s intricate paper cut designs. The majority of our work is paper goods, printed on recycled and eco-conscious papers, all of our products are produced in the UK and everything is packaged in glassine bags, which can be recycled or compostable cellophane, made of vegetable starch."
