'Emperor Moth' by Ellena Dallas
This print, titled ‘Emperor Moth’, is inspired by Ellena's interest in the natural world and her favourite insects: moths. Featuring a male emperor moth, the work was made using watercolour and gouache. This hand-signed digital print measures 21x21cm and is supplied with a backing board and protective sleeve.
Based in the north-west of England, Ellena is an artist and illustrator studying at the Edinburgh College of Art. Her work has been exhibited in various local spaces and is inspired by themes of nature and everyday life, often within a fantasy context. Storytelling is a key focus of her work, influenced by classic children’s books and contemporary media, such as 2D animation and computer games. Ellena uses a variety of media in her work, but mostly uses watercolours and coloured pencils to achieve soft textures and intricate details. When not working on illustrations, she can be found crocheting or reading with a cup of tea, or playing ‘The Last Of Us’.
