Wheel of Fate is Moving to Leith Walk!

Wheel of Fate is Moving to Leith Walk!

Our original little blue shop at 63 Causewayside has always been small but cosy. When we first opened our doors on the Summer Solstice in 2023, we could fill every inch of the little shop with work from local artists and members of the witchcraft and pagan community. Nowadays, we’re overflowing! Our workshops in our back room were always nice and intimate, but we are ready to welcome larger groups.

After searching for nearly a year, we finally got the keys to a gorgeous big terrace property at 24 Haddington Place on Leith Walk. It’s located near the Elm Row bus stop and MacDonald Street tram stop, meaning it’s well connected to central Edinburgh and Leith. Whereas previously we were almost 30 minutes’ walk from Waverley Train Station, we are now only about 14 minutes away on foot.

For all of January, we will be running workshops and selling our wares as usual at our original location. Then, for the first two weeks of February, we will continue running our shopfront at 63 Causewayside without workshops. Our very last day at Causewayside will be the 15th of February, so be sure to come see the place one last time! After that, both our physical and online shops will be closed for two weeks, so we will not be able to sell anything for delivery or in-store collection.

I am thrilled to announce that our grand opening at the new place at 24 Haddington Place, Leith Walk, will be Saturday the 28th of February. Drop by any time between 11AM-6PM to say hello and see the new space!

All this extra room will allow us to manifest the intentions we set at the start: to support the creative and witchcraft communities in Edinburgh while introducing visitors to heritage crafts. We can now seat more people in our broom making and bookbinding workshops, making them perfect for hen/stag dos, birthday parties, and visiting covens. We will be introducing drop-in, DIY crafts for those who prefer autonomous play over tutored classes. We are also looking forward to hosting more events and community workshops, which are free or low-cost, to reduce the barrier of entry and invite more people into our witchy creative space.

Our core offering of Broom Making, Bookbinding, and Spinning workshops are perfect for those who want to be inducted into a craft with step-by-step guidance from a knowledgeable instructor. If you want to have an authentic, hands-on experience, learn a new skill, or participate in some tangible heritage crafts of Britain, then these classes are for you.

Wheel of Fate is a space for real, tactile, and handmade things. We are a space that invites you to participate in living history and acts of creativity which connect you to those who have come before. We can’t wait to welcome even more people into the world of folk arts and witch crafts.
